Based on this idea, the Pabst Steinmetz Foundation Arts and Innovation Award gives $25,000 grants to two proposals each year that combine programs in the College of Arts and Humanities with another UCF college as well as an external organization. Two collaborative projects have been announced as the 2019 winners of the Pabst Steinmetz Foundation Arts & Wellness Innovation Awards. The winning teams, comprising UCF personnel and community organizations, were each awarded $25,000 to further their interdisciplinary arts and wellness projects. Covering the emotional, practical and informational essentials of caregiving, Caring for the Caregiver is educational and fun at the same time as you engage with other caregivers in a small group setting.
At the conclusion of the seminar you will have answers to key questions caregivers often ask:

The Caring for the Caregiver SeminarUsing theater as inspiration for caregivers to identify and share their feelings, the Foundation partnered with the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, The University of Central Florida and Central Florida Community Arts to bring this seminar model to the public. The model resources are provided by a team of community leaders: Dr. John Guarneri, Past President of the Medical Staff at Advent Health and Currently Chair and Director of Healthcare and Spirituality at Advent Health; Mary Ellen Philbin, CEO of Share the Care; Diana Silvey, Vice President of Programs at Winter Park Health Foundation and Heidi Isenhart, Partner and elder care attorney at Shuffield Lowman. Their ongoing support and expertise refined the seminar model, providing key facilitation and resources. Going forward, CFCArts will bring the seminar model to our community caregivers on an ongoing basis. Thanks Joshua Vickery, Executive Director at CFCArts. We at The Pabst Steinmetz are grateful for our community partners whose hard work over the past year created a sustainable model. Special thanks to playwright Steve Yockey whose inspired play, “Blackberry Winter” forms the basis of the model.
